Artwork hung over furniture looks best at about 75% of its width, with the bottom edge approximately 6-12 inches above the furniture.

When hanging art on an empty wall, utilize the three-eights rule, leaving empty space which amounts to about three-eights the width of the painting on each side of the wall.
