While most painters of his era were chasing grizzlies and bison out west, Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait stumbled into the Adirondacks and made camp.
It was there, in 1874, that he painted this whitetail buck in the forest — known at the time simply as the Virginia Deer.

About the Art
While a lot of 19th century artwork was heavily focused on the rugged excitement of the West, back East hunting art was flourishing in the beautiful Adironacks. This is where Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait went to paint animal art when he immigrated to the United States in 1850, setting up a camp in the woods to paint during Summer.
It was here that Tait would paint much of his whitetail deer art print on canvas, hunting dog paintings, and other works. Some of these compositions attracted the attention of patrons and the National Academy, and soon Tait's work would be published by Currier & Ives as lithographs.
Tait had studied the works of another famed wildlife artist at school, Edwin Landseer, and his influence can be clearly seen in many of Tait's animal paintings.

Artwork hung over furniture looks best at about 75% of its width, with the bottom edge approximately 6-12 inches above the furniture. Use the chart below to find the size that will look best for you.

The only exception to this rule is when hanging your art over the fireplace. In this case, it's best to choose a print which is either the same length as the mantle, or the same width as the opening.
When hanging art on an empty wall, utilize the three-eights rule, leaving empty space which amounts to about three-eights the width of the painting on each side.

Yes, hanging hardware is already attached. Just take it out of the box and find the perfect spot on the wall.
Each print is wrapped in plastic to prevent scuffs and scratches to the canvas surface. Prints are then packed in a sturdy, flat, corrugated box and secured with strong strapping to prevent damage.
And, in the unlikely event something does happen during transit, we'll replace or refund it immediately.
